Kampong Trach Mountain is both a historical site and a sacred place that has long attracted many visitors. It is highly respected and worshipped by Cambodian, Chinese, and Vietnamese people alike. The site is located along National Road No. 36, in Damnak Kantuot Khang Tbong Commune, Kampong Trach District, about 38 kilometers east of Kampot Province.
Travelers taking the train can enjoy the magnificent scenery of this mountain, which lies close to the railway line. The mountain has a perimeter of about 4,000 meters and rises between 150 to 200 meters high.
This limestone mountain contains dozens of caves of different sizes, including the Moon Cave, Sun Cave, Hanuman Cave, Cheang Lok Meun Cave, Balen Cave, and Kbal Antong Cave, among others. Each of these spots offers stunning views, cool and refreshing water, and sacred shrines that hold deep spiritual significance.
The natural beauty of Kampong Trach Mountain has also made it a popular location for filming movies. Its unique landscapes, fresh air, and cool cave breezes offer visitors a relaxing experience and unforgettable memories. Outside the mountain, tourists can admire large rock formations, vast green fields, and even enjoy horse-drawn carriage rides around the site.
As a proud Cambodian, I sincerely hope that Kampong Trach Mountain will continue to be a beloved and popular tourist destination for both local and international visitors for generations to come.
