Kampong Kdei Bridge (Spean Praptos) is located near Kampong Kdei Market, in Kampong Kdei Commune, Chi Kraeng District, Siem Reap Province, approximately 60 kilometers from Siem Reap City. If you travel from Phnom Penh along National Road 6, you will arrive at Kampong Kdei Market, where an old national road on the right leads to this ancient bridge.
Kampong Kdei Bridge is the longest ancient bridge in Cambodia from the Angkor period. It was built in the 12th century during the reign of King Jayavarman VII (1181–1219), using limestone and sandstone in the Bayon architectural style. The bridge is 86 meters long, 16 meters wide, and 10 meters high from the riverbed. It has 20 pillars and 21 openings for water to pass through. Locals commonly refer to it as Kampong Kdei Bridge, while others call it the Dragon Bridge, named after the dragon carvings found on its railings.
Today, due to the construction of a new bridge for regular traffic, the ancient bridge is reserved for pedestrians and light vehicles, such as bicycles and motorbikes.
This historic bridge is not frequently visited by tourists, primarily because of its distance from the provincial capital, which poses travel challenges—especially for international visitors.
