A Traditional Wooden Stilt House in Peam Chilaing, Tboung Khmum, Cambodia

The house is built elevated from the ground to protect against flooding during the rainy season. The upper floor is made of wood and has a tiled roof. A wooden staircase with many pairs of shoes placed at the bottom reflects the cultural custom of removing shoes before entering the house. The windows are left open for ventilation and to ensure a safe living environment.
