The statue of His Majesty King Ang Duong, the Supreme Patriarch King, was built in Kampot Province, located in Sovann Sakor Village, Kampong Kandal Sangkat, Kampot City, along the coastal canal.
The statue of King Ang Duong is not only a tourist attraction; it also serves as a reminder of a glorious past, his great merits, and his significant royal achievements associated with Kampot Province during that era.
His Majesty constructed a road from the Royal Capital of Oudong to the seaport of Kampot in the 19th and early 20th centuries. This ancient road is locally known as “Ang Duong Road.” Today, this historic road forms part of National Road No. 41, connecting Oudong District, crossing National Road No. 4, and linking to National Road No. 3, which leads to Kampot Province.
Construction of the statue of King Ang Duong began in 2017 and was completed on January 9, 2018. The statue is made of bronze, weighing 2.5 tons and standing nearly 5 meters tall, mounted on a pedestal. The statue of His Majesty King Ang Duong offers an opportunity for both domestic and international visitors to learn about Cambodia's history and culture.
