Katieng Waterfall is one of the most attractive tourist destinations in Ratanakiri Province. The area is shaded by large trees that provide a cool, refreshing atmosphere, allowing tourists to relax, enjoy meals, and swim for leisure and fun.

Katieng Waterfall is located in Katieng Village, La Bang Pir Commune, Lumphat District, about 9 kilometers from Banlung City, Ratanakiri Province. The tourists can enjoy numerous activities, including playing in or swimming in the water, taking in the views of the forested mountains, renting huts to relax and dine, bringing your own food, and taking an elephant ride to explore the forest.

The waterfall is approximately 13 meters high. At the top, the water flows smoothly over a flat rock surface before plunging into the gorge below. Surrounding the waterfall are forests of both small and large trees that provide cool shade, making it an ideal place to rest, sit and admire the waterfall, or enjoy a picnic in a pleasant and relaxing atmosphere.

In addition, near the upper area of the waterfall, there are elephants available for rides to explore the surrounding forest and scenery. Tourists can also purchase handmade products created by local ethnic minorities, like baskets, gongs, woven fabrics, gourds, and traditional clothing.

Behind the waterfall, a large rock cave that tourists can enter. From inside, they can observe unique and beautiful natural scenery through the curtain of water cascading forcefully.

However, access to the waterfall can be challenging due to the red laterite road, which becomes difficult to travel on during the rainy season. Nature-loving and adventurous tourists are advised to use pickup vehicles for easier access, as small cars may have some difficulties reaching Katieng Waterfall.
