The Techo Koh Thmor X16 military historical site, spanning over 1,100 hectares, is situated in Kaoh Thma village, Tonlung commune, Memot district, along the Cambodia–Vietnam border.

Koh Thmor is a historic site marking the perilous journey that nearly cost the life of Samdech Techo Hun Sen and four of his comrades, as they sought intervention and began building the forces to overthrow the genocidal Pol Pot regime.

On the night of June 20, 1977, Samdech Techo Hun Sen and his four comrades—Nuch Than, Nhek Huon, San Sannh, and Va Poar Ean—made the most difficult decision, under extremely harsh circumstances, to secretly slip away at night from the 21st Division Regional Headquarters, located in Kaoh Thma village, Tonlung commune, Memot district, Tbong Khmum province, heading toward Binh Phuoc province in Vietnam.
